Our Recycling & Data Destruction Process
Secure. Compliant. Zero-Landfill.
From pickup to final commodity recovery, we maintain a strict chain of custody for every device.
Step 1: Collection
The process begins the moment we touch your equipment. Our team collects your electronics using our own fleet of trucks, transporting them directly to our secure Toledo facility without the use of third-party storage hubs.
Step 2: Triage & Data Sanitization
Upon arrival at our facility, every data-bearing device enters a secure quarantine zone. We utilize a strict "Wipe or Destroy" protocol. Viable hard drives are sanitized using NIST 800-88 industry-standard software to ensure data is irretrievable. If a drive cannot be wiped—or if the client specifically requests physical destruction—the media is physically shredded or crushed. We verify total data destruction before any equipment moves to the next stage, at which point Certificates of Destruction are issued on request.
Step 3: Dismantling & Sorting
Once data is destroyed, the physical recycling begins under our strict Zero-Landfill Policy. Our team manually dismantles equipment to carefully separate hazardous components, such as batteries and mercury bulbs, from recyclable materials. We then sort the remaining commodities into specific streams, including ferrous metals like steel, non-ferrous metals like copper and gold from circuit boards, and various high-grade plastics.
Step 4: Downstream Refining
We only partner local in state downstream processors. The sorted raw materials are taken to specialized refineries where they are melted down and repurposed into new products. This ensures your old office server might become a car part or a new appliance, rather than being burned or buried in a landfill.
Our Security Guarantee
We understand that you are entrusting us with your reputation. Our facility is monitored by 24/7 security cameras, and all employees undergo rigorous background checks. We meet or exceed all EPA, HIPAA, and FACTA guidelines for data disposal to ensure total compliance.
